Medical industry applications for wire and cable can be very specialized. As medical electronics become more complex, the specifications for wire and cable become increasingly stringent. At Micro-Tek Corporation, we specialize in meeting these high-tech needs. We are able to provide products across a wide range of applications for medical based systems.
In many cases, these systems call for highly flexible stranding. One example of this is the 49 ends of #46 AWG 316L stainless steel standing that we fabricate. This stranding is insulated with Teflon® PTFE with a final insulation OD of 0.022″ – 0.026″. A variation of this is also manufactured with a slightly larger stranding but the same OD requirements. These strandings fall into USP specification for sizes 2/0 and 1/0. Micro-Tek also can manufacture a stranding to the USP 3/0 specification. We have been manufacturing this product for over 15 years and produce more than one million feet per year for use in cardiac arrest electrodes. Customers may specify any color for the insulation as well as changes to the stranding to fit their needs.
